Every year, Stagecoach, a country music festival, is held in Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Like Coachella and a lot of other similar festivals, Stagecoach has its own unique style that sets the mood, inspired by country western musicians.
It’s important to dress for the weather, as the temperatures can range all the way from the low 60s to the upper 80s throughout the day and as it gets dark. During the day, light clothing in light colors is the best plan, something that will be comfortable in the warmer temperatures all day in the sun. As the temperature drops, it’s a good idea to bring a jacket for the low temps.
Besides a jacket, you’re going to want to bring sunscreen. Since you’ll be in the California desert for three days, you need to protect your skin. Any sunscreen brought from home must not be in an aerosol can, as you will be asked to throw them away at the entrance.
Lastly, wear shoes that are both durable and comfortable. A festival requires a lot of standing on rough terrain, and the ground can get a bit messy as well so closed toed shoes are recommended.
Since the festival revolves around country music, expect a lot of country-inspired clothing such as cowboy hats, cowboy boots and lots of items of apparel with American flags on them. Some people even wear swimsuits.
Female Stagecoach attendees are often seen in denim shorts, or Daisy Dukes, with tank tops or swimsuit tops. Western-style dresses are also comfortable and common, in desert colors like dusty rose and white.
For men, you can’t go wrong with jeans and a light buttondown with cowboy boots and hats. Aside from that, choose anything with an American flag pattern and you’re good to go, from swim trunks and shirts to sunglasses and socks.
It’s easy to fit in to Stagecoach fashion, simply take inspiration from the music acts or the festival and desert themes.
